What is the most dependable brake controller to put on an 86 f250 4x4, 7.3 diesel, will pull everything from horse trailers to flatbed goosenecks loaded with hay?
I like the Tekonsha Prodigy, too. No more gain adjustment, and you can make use of a "boost" feature that's great with Horse and Stock trailers. The manual is pretty good, too.
The best controller I have ever used is Brakesmart, if you install one you will never go back to anything else. I have my old Tekonsha in my tool box for a spare just in case I need it.
I agree with rvpuller that BrakeSmart is the best but the current price of $435 would probably keep me from buying another one with Prodigy and Jordan 2020 only costing ~$100 each. But, I guarantee that when the van goes my BrakeSmart is staying with me!
