Thumbs up New ride

Fellas,
Today the wife and I bought a 2006 F150 Super cab 4x4. I have always had blue trucks but my eye went to the bright red clearcoat. We pick it up on Monday, I can't wait. I turn forty tomorrow, this is a great way to enter middle age. Pictures in my gallery later this week...
Jeff

I hope Bill Ford appreciates this!!!!

Congratulations! Enjoy it. I love the "new car" smell.

I have my eye on this one currently sitting on a dealer's lot.

It's an 02 Lincoln Blackwood. It has a custom stereo, which I don't care about, and a supercharger. It has 58k miles and in nice condition. I'm thinking about trading in my wife's 01 Lincoln Navigator, which has 64k miles.

She doesn't know yet about what I'm thinking of doing.

Everyone should buy something new once in their life. I hope you and your wife enjoy it for years to come.

My once in a lifetime was an 89 ranger. I drove it for 16 years before passing it on to my little brother. Its his daily driver now. After that, I bought used again...a used 01 explorer and a just a slightly more used 56 f-100

So...40 is now middle aged? I am pretty close to middle age then. I guess I will make it.

nice truck but i think you should have sprung for the crew cab- worth it to have the extra foot and a half in the cabin imo

New Ride

Guys,
Thanks for the congrats. I'm not sure I want to venture into the new truck forum. Seems like all I see is problems with the new ones over there.
I love the new car smell to. I went back after the salesman put a sold sign on it and got an extra snort of new F150 smell. It's probably some cancer causing plastic that we all love. I wonder if they actually spray that or is it new materials that have been bottled up since leaving the factory?
Ilya, if you get your wife a new ride, she 's going to want the garage space where that Panel truck is...
I will post some new pictures tonight in my gallery. First new truck ever, can't wait. This truck is going to get better gas mileage than my 96 F150. Better ride, more comfort, four doors for the kids. Win,win, win.
Jeff

Sorry to jack your thread, but everybody should look at this truck, this might be Fords rarest truck. This truck was built at the Kansas City plant. The very basic truck came down the assembly line, then they went to a special building where they were assembled by hand, by a small crew of hand picked people. Most everything on the truck was different, and they turned out to be a nightmare to assemble. Each truck was treated as a "Show Job", so that they would be perfect. LOL. It took ten? times longer than they thought to build each unit. The 'first run' was suspost to be about 300 units, rumor was, only 78 trucks made it out the door before the project was scrapped.

xfordman,
I have been waiting to use this smilie for a long time.

Are you talking about the Lincoln Pickup Ilya is looking at? That's not a Naviagator is it?

It's not a Navigator. It's a Lincoln Blackwood. It was a special production run only made in 2002. I believe that you could only buy it by ordering from a Neiman Marcus catalog.

It's a highly modified Ford F150. The Blackwood utilizes the Lincoln Navigator front clip, engine and running gear, and interior. The bed is also customized.

I believe that this will be the collector truck of the future. It should rival the rare Bonus Built truck versions.
