On my 77 250 High boy I have a 351 M with a 2bl Carb.
I'm working on the brakes thinking I've got a vaccum leak. Found a broken line to my auto choke. Working on fixing it I found a small space ship shaped ?? something mounted right behind the carb it has one small nipple which on my truck is connected to nothing... What is this and does it need connected. Also On my Auto choke I bought a universal kit at Napa doesn't seem to want to work. The line is broken off just above the plate that bolts into the manifold. Under is the coil of line that heats to release the choke. Can't quite make the kit work with what I've got. Thanks

Also the actuator that I believe pulls the choke doesn't seem to be functioning either. The slot where the connecting arm from the choke to the controller(don't know exactly what it's called) is to long even if with my hand I slide in the actuator it doesn't move the choke plate at all.
I'm glad I don't have aliens. Glad someone could understand my sub-basic knowledge of components. I have always been a tear off replace guy and i'm trying to do more as well as learn. About the EGR valve though the only connection for it seems to me it would take a rubber hose it's only got the one single nipple protruding from about 10 o'clock pointing towards the passenger side. Is this possible? or am I not looking deep enough?
