oil press ???

oil press ???

i just bought a 96 f250 with a 351w drove it for 2 days and then my oil press fell off to right below the n from right iin the middle i was wondering how accurate these gauges are i want to put a mech gauge in but i cant get at the stock location with out taking off the ps and ac is there any other place were the guage can go thanks

The stock gauge is worse than the old indicator lights. If the pressure is above some number (maybe around 9 or 10 psi) it will sit the needle somewhere in the middle of the gauge. If the pressure goes below that number, the needle will stay to the left. Any fluctuation on these gauges is probably due to electrical interference like resistance in a poor connection, a faulty sender or gauge.

Too bad the pressure sender port is so hard to get to. Can't get at it with the oil filter removed? I don't know where any other such ports are on the engine.
