Leaking tranny vent
Anyone know what could be causing oil to leak out of the vent on top of a 4r100. The tranny is not overfull and as the level drops it still leaks just as much. It seems to be worse when I'm in reverse or towing a trailer.

The only things that come to mind are overheating or over filling. Since you say it is neither of those, try posting your question in the forum specific to your truck. Maybe someone else there has had the same problem.

Reverse and towing would up the pressure in the tranny so as to not slip the clutch packs. I would think that perhaps your pressure regulation valve is having problems sticking shut, which would make the fluid vent out the tube since it has no way to return to the pan.
