I am in the process of restoring my 1965 f-350. Iwould like to know what color the core support was originally. black? body color? Any help would be appreciated!
Oh No Sir, Grey or gray is a different color all together, We bees talking black here. I thought it was more medium or dark black, rather than light black. :-)
Think about it. ;-)

In the cool still quite of night you can hear chevies rusting away.
I always thought black was black, oh well. Mine was black too but you really can't go wrong with a semi-flat or semi-gloss black. Kryon's is a good match for Ford's body/underbody'black'. Whatever you do, don't paint the outside of the core the body color as it will show through the grille like there is a flood light on it; mine is a dark green and it looks like heck shining behind the grille.
I agree, I painted one of mine blue like the body with an aluminum grill. The core sticks out like a sore thumb. I'll fix it one of these days, as soon as I find some Med. Black paint
Actually, I like to think it is Green Bay Packer green. But whatever it is called, it is not holding up in the AZ sun. Hmmm, maybe I'll two-tone with Green Bay gold above the beltline.
