Does anyone have any Ideas how I can add power door locks to my 2006 F-250 Super Duty? It is a crew cab model.
I bought an XL because I want to set it up the way I want it, and do my own interior and rims, so I see no need to pay Ford for the extra crap i'm going to be replacing anyway.
Has anyone done this? any idea where to buy parts?
Back in '92 I bought a Dodge Dakota Sport that was manual windows and locks. I loved the truck as it had some custom items on it that were dealer installed so I bought it anyway. I called around to some local junk yards and found one that had a '91 Dakota with power windows and locks that had hit a parked Semi and totaled the front end. I went to the junk yard and got all the parts out, took them home and got a wiring diagram and installed the parts in mine and made a harness from the diagram. All in all, it took about 2 days, but it only cost me about $150 for all the parts and the diagram. Since it all came out of a Dakota, it looked factory and I even sold it with the buyer thinking it was factory.
Good luck if you decide to try it.
I think this is the route I will probably go. Hopefully I will be able to find these parts in a junk yard around here. It seems that everyone buys all the super dutys out of junkyards the day the junk yard buys them around here!!!
I did find one place today that said they would do it, and use factory door trim and switches to make it look stock. But they want $800 to do it.
