Windshild Replacement
Now on to the topic. I was in utah for my time off visiting my Mother for her B-day. Now to top it off. The time leading up to her B-day i was with her all the time, there for I never had a chance to get her a gift. Sooooo The moring of her B-day i get up early and get out there looking for the perfect gift for my Mother. This leads to the Good and Bad of the day. Ok the Good first. I did find the perfect gift and that all went great. It was just what she wanted. Now for the Bad. On the way home from buying her B-day present a "big-rig"
kicked up a rock, and aperently a big one, and cracked my windshild. Infact it conected at two differnt points thats how big it was. Now not only did the sound scare me half to death (6yo son in back seat mind you) but when i realized what happend I was Madder then H#!!. My Brand New Windshild with my Kentucky factory Sticker in it was broke. Long story short, in lest then 24 hours it started to run in 5 different directions.... ARGGGGGGGG
Needless to say i had the Window replaced ASAP. The only good thing about that hole thing is that the "OEM" replacement windshild actually comes with a tint across the top (way cool
) So ya... that was an extra $100 that i wasnt planning on spending on this trip. I have pics and will post in gallery soon. aslo??? does anyone out there know if or where i can get ahold of another "factory" sticker from the "kentucky" plant for my window for my truck. ok thanks for any help.JoryLee
After a turkey did a kamikaze attack on my SuperDuty early one morning on a Pennsylvania interstate, my young sons wished we could get the "cool" sticker back. I wrote Ford, and they came through.
This was a few years ago. These days, with all the white collar layoffs, etc at Ford, who knows what response you will get out of customer service.
BTW, that turkey hit my windshield (right in front of my face) so hard, it almost broke through it. My sons and I had tiny pieces of glass, etc on us. So, not only do you have to keep an eye out for whitetails near the roadway, but Jap Zero's, too.
The whole windshield, trim piece, and everthing was self contained. I had a previous windshield replacement on a 96 F-150 that left the entire outside paint around the window scratched. The 250 replacement dropped right in and looks good as new.
I live in a high construction area and the damn trucks kick up rocks all the time.
( https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/5...-graphics.html ) And yes i totaly agree. it was the fastest and best removal/install ive ever seen to. plus the "OEM" has the tint accross the top. The guy was telling me that the only way to get the windshild with the tint is to have the Factory one Replaced... how strange
, and ford is called these windshild "OEM". well what ever.. its over now but im still not happy about it. as for the Factory sticker ill try that and see what happens thanks a bunch.JoryLee
