How to Repair Rust Damage 1980 F-150
#16
Big Hoss 29 I know what you're talking about. I was 15 when my dad and I rebuilt our first engine. We didn't know what we were doing and it took 2-3 months, but I learned a lot. Unfortunately, what I am battling right now is time. My son is 15 and I would love to take the cab off my truck (1994) and put it on the 1980. It sounds like more than I can do with the job right now. But you and Frederic have inspired me. Once I get everything squared away at work to where I am working some sort of reasonable hours, I want my son and I to have the same experience my dad and I did.
What I am thinking of:
1980-1983 F-150 4WD
466 (.030 over 460) block
Edelbrock Performer RPM heads
Edelbrock Performer RPM intake
Edelbrock 750 CFM carb
Car Craft got 516 HP out of this brute!
Paint the whole thing some outragous yellow color with a blacked out hood with one of those monster Mopar hood scoops from the 60's/70's.
