1992 Stx
Im looking at a 92 stx auto 4.0l. as far as i know its got tougher suspension and maybe different wheels. do they come with limited slip? anything else i should know about the stx model? thanks

well i did some research that i suppose i shouldve dont first but it seems like the stx is basically a std ranger but with a bunch of options. so i guess it can be an xlt with just a sticker. didn't find out out an LSD though

If you can physically see the truck or if you can get someone to take a picture for you, there is a tag on the rear diff that would say like 3 73 for a 3.73 ratio, or 3L73 for a limited slip 3.73. The door tag ID for axle would also reveal this information.
Do remember if it's been "well used" it'll probably not have much LS left.
STXs tend to have bucket seats, reg cab I believe, the big engine and auto. Also a lift from the factory and generally sportier tires.

In my experience, especially with older trucks in places that actually have snow, that tag is so rusty all you can see is that it is physically there and cannot actually read it. Im pretty sure the panel on the door has the gear ratio or if not take the vin number, there should be something online (maybe even something on this site) that can decode the vin number and tell you the axle ratio.
