62 F350 missing at idle

I seem to have miss at idle in my 62 F350 1 ton. I believe it may be the carb. I pulled a vacuum line off while it was running and the miss disappeared. Is it time for a carb rebuild? The idle jets seem to have little or no effect. This has a 292 V8 with a two barrel Holley. The ignition system is in good shape (or
so it seems).

62 F350 missing at idle

LAST EDITED ON 07-May-01 AT 02:03 PM (EST)[p]Hi Bob, I have a 1960 F-350 and I also have a 292/holley 2bbl, and I seem to recall my mixture screws being "turned out" approx. 4 turns. the idle is nice and smooth...start your adjustment with the screws backed out 1 1/2 turns, start the engine, then slowly back out each screw in 1/2 turn increments, and see how things go. dont forget to check your ignition timing first...also, on these holleys, the float adjustment will play a big part in your fuel mixture. carefully remove the little brass screw on the side of the float bowl, and see if fuel spills out. if it does, you will run too rich, and will need to lower the float. i needed to remove the needle and seat assy, the spray a good carb cleaner to clean it up. runs fine now...
