I know this has been gone over and over but i had a quick few questions. I want to do my fuel system with all the fuel mods i've read about. I would like to do the whole thing at once. What are the mods i should do and what do they do for the truck? Harpoon mod lets you fill your tank faster right. Hutch mod stops air from getting into the lines? What does a return system or regulated return system do and does anyone have any links on this? Pre pump filter? Lift pump? Any help or help explaining how these mods work would be great. Also where to get the parts, especially the pre pump and the lift pump would really help me out. Thanks to everyone for the patience and help
I'd really appreciate a drawing of what's going on in the regulated return.
I see the pictures but i don't know where all the hoses are going and from.
IF there are installions instructions somewhere online that could help.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the link. That's a little pricy. Is there a way to make one of these without spending that much for some tubing and a regulator? Thanks
Look into Kwik's gallery for some good pics on the DIY method. I did something similar and came in around $100 for the engine fuel line sys. I've been too lame to post pics of mine.
The harpoon mod does not allow you to fill quicker. It is a tube slid into the pickup tube assembly that prevent the one way valve from opening in low fuel situations and sucking in air or foam (also air). (I think this is right from what I recall. I've obviously not done this so straightem me out if I'm wrong guys)
You can assemble the parts for the in tank mods on your own using SS line. Another shortcut/money saver is this:
Keep in mind, I have a sump so you would need to reattach the pickup along with the harpoon mod where my pickup line is no longer utilized. Look in my gallery for how I did the return line in the tank blurbage if you are interested in doing it yourself with your own parts.

Go all the way and put the fuel pump into the tank. That is the best way to get all the air out of the fuel stream. It's not that hard to do either if you have the facilities. I used a wire feed welder to attach the fitting onto the end of the pickup tube that I shortened to just the right length. The pickup screen fit perfectly over the end of the fuel pump that I used.
In that thread there was some question about whether it would work out or not, and I can report that it's the best mod so far to eliminate any air in the fuel. My little sight glass filter that I have up front in the engine compartment has pure liquid fuel in it at all times.
