LMCtruck.icom, dennis crapenter they all sell panels that you'd need to get bolted and welded
otherwise you can find one at a junkyard for a good price and then just have an auto body fix the dents
not that I've seen. LMC has inner bed sides and thats it. Outer box sides you need to buy patch panels for. and the floor is not available eather. You live in texas best bet is the wreckers for a rust free (or close) one.
Has anyone ever cut down a long bed and replaced the side panels with new ones? Where I live, there are plenty of long beds in the salvages, but no short beds to be found.
Ive CUT UP a long bed, actually several, to fit in the dumpster, not for what you want to do, but it probably wouldnt be too hard, the floor is going to be the hard part.
I thought I'd seen the replacement panels at National Parts for relatively cheap. However, the labor may not be worth it. I have found one or two but I've yet to determine their condition.
I also have cut down three long boxes. 2 went on bronco chassis behind p/u cabs. The other is behind my 4door cab on a regular cab longbox frame. Its not hard to do but these are hunting/mud rigs so pretty wasn't the goal. I do believe if you were carefull how you did it, it could be done.
I also put a 59 stepside on a bronco chassis behind a p/u cab. That took alot of work to get it to look right.
