Transfer Case Shifter

Transfer Case Shifter
Just bought a 1996 F250 and when I checked the 4wheel drive it was stuck, I hit it with WD 40 and was able to move it better but not all the way. My last attempt I broke the shifter and now am in a jam. Does anyone know where I can get a new shifter and how difficult is this to do on my own. Thanks

Geeeez
Most of the time if you can't shift the transfer case putting the truck in neutral or park helps and will get it in
You can get the shifter at the dealer or a parts jobber of your choice, or a salvags yard if money is tight and used parts don't bather you.
The R&R of the shifter shouldn't be too bad if you have hand tools and some mechanical know how

I have just purchased a 93 4x4 and with the shifter in Neutral the **** says you pull back to 4L and you push forward back into neutral, that works. Now it says to push down and forward for 4h and 2h, NO WAY it wouldn't move. So, I got under the truck with it in neutral and the 4wheel shifter in neutral. After looking at the bracket with the notches there is no possible way to push the stick forward at all. All of the notches from neutral show you have to pull the lever toward the seat but its still not possible because you still have to push it down and it wont budge. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.
