Parts Store diagnosed my 1999 F250 V10 with an error that said faulty "Electronic Speed Control" I bought the part but can not find where it is located on the tranny - Any ideas??

If you mean the vehichle speed sensor (vss) it is located on top of the rear diff. Never heard of a speed control sensor.
what does the part look like?

Thanks-
The part (actually I think it said Vehicle Speed Sensor) they sold me looks like it is a mechanically driven sensor - it has a hex male dive on it that looks kind of like an old speedo cable. I pulled the ABS speed sensor out of the rear diff, but it is obviously a magnetic sensor - NAPA told me the sensor they sold me goes in the tranny - but I sure can't see where. I have been reading some posts, and it seems like the only sensor is in the rear Diff. The only symptoms I am having is that my "service engine soon" warning light is on, and every now and then it shifts real hard from 1st to 2nd - and 2nd to 3rd. Cruise control works, and I have no ABS warning light...Thanks for the welcome-

Hmmmm,
I've never seen/heard of anything on the tranny
Maybe someone else will chime in.

Thanks - I think I'll replace the sensor in the Diff and see what happens, its a cheap way to eliminate one possibility..

Thanks again
