won't turn over

i bought the truck not running i put in a new battery , had starter tested replace negative battery ground to starter, positive is fine, replaced silonaid and still when i turn the key it will tick once for every turn of the key but will not turn over could the motor be sezed if so how do i check to see if it is

Well you could try turning the parking lights on, then try cranking it & see if the lights dim really low. If so, go feel the statrer motor & battery cables, they will likely be warm, from the high current the starter motor is pulling trying to crank a siezed engine.

Or you could also put a long handle wrench, like a torque wrench, on the crankshaft nut & see if you can budge it.

If it's a manual tranny, you could try pushing it slow & pop the clutch with it in low gear & see if it'll turn over.

Just some thoughts to ponder.

Is it possible the engine is locked up?

Take a look at the alternator. My alternator locked up and would just barely let the engine turn over. Not even close to turning over fast enough to start. Remove the serpentine belt and try turning it over with the key. If it still has the same problem, try turning the engine with the crankshaft pulley bolt. If it wont turn from there, you have to tear into the motor to find what is wrong.

it is possible. if its turning over slowly i would say it isnt though.
