I'm curious on what you guys/gals like better? Do you prefer emblems on the hood or shaved? I've been looking at several pictures and it's about 50/50. Lets here your opinions.
I have to agree with Randy. My plan was to shave everything and add a modern drivetrain when (and if) I ever was ever able to get a 56. However, I ended up with one thats almost completely stock. I can't imagine hacking it up to customize it now. I like the fact that all the emblems are still on it.
Well, I prefer emblems, too... but then, I also prefer stock. Randy Jack called it, I think. You really shouldn't have the emblems on it if it isn't THAT truck any more.
It's not that simple Randy. What constitute stocker? Painted grill, rubber mats, Y block engine. What constitutes custom? Chopped top, chrome grill, lowered. V8 engine? What about mild custom or retro street rod? That's what I'm getting at. Most trucks out there are modified from the stock condition. Yet several still retain the emblems even though they are on air bags, etc. I think it's a matter of choice. Interesting to hear different ideas on this one. Randy has a good point, but I'm still wondering...

Here Randy, I'll give him another target
Custom: when you have to stand there and try to figure out what year and model it used to be.
Stocker: everything else from slightly modified to restoration pieces.
I like emblems. I scrounged ebay for the correct emblems for my '62 unibody that had the hood shaved. I've never understood the desire to shave a truck. But I also don't like the "in the weeds" look, don't understand chassis transplants or most of the other 'improvements' made to these trucks. Cars? sure, but trucks are supposed to be TRUCKS..........

I hear ya. I think you have a point there. I personally like the lowered look, But, I sometimes wonder what I'm thinking when I want to lower my truck and still haul stuff. It does seem a bit oxymoronic. Air shocks are my only answer to that.
I also have a problem with a crew cab dually lowered in the weeds. What are they thinking? I must be getting too old.

I saw a chebby 4 door long box dually in two tone brown dropped in the weeds on the freeway yesterday. I had to take a looooooooooong look. With a wtf afterwards. As for emblems, I think it's based on color. A lighter louder custom color should remain shaved. A darker colored truck with a chrome grill can use a little more to compliment it. This is determined after Randy's rules of custom/stock.

I prefer the emblems and it's not every day you see a Mercury truck.
Mtflat,
Speaking of those "Chassis Transplants", my truck has a higher load capacity than when it left the factory! So it's still a truck and always will be a truck.
