Got a 90 Eddie Bauer Bronco with 302 ho engine EFi.... Got into some trouble while i was 4wheeling and swamped it in 5 ft of water...... was thinging about rewiring it with a painless harness and then changing the engine to a carb set up...
Has anyone done or attempted this.... what all does the efi to carb entail and need for parts.....
Well..... i think the entire wiring harness is fried..... well noit the entire thing.... everything works except the engine... i pulled the computer and as soon as i get some money i will get a new one.... the engine turns over but will not start... no spark and ignition... i figured it might be cheaper to convert the engine over..... plus i can not find some of the relays anywhere
You should also consider that by switching to a carb that you wil be negativly affecting your off road performance if you are into hill climbing at all.
I have not seen water affect a harness in the way you are describing, at least not permantly. Have you removed all of the electrical plugs / connectors and cleaned / dried them? I have seen computers take a hike though from water so it is a good that you have one on its way.
