My drivers window starting acting kinda odd... it goes down, and it doesn't come up. I unhooked the motor, and hooked up my test light (i fried my DVOM @ work). when I hit down, the light is bright. when i hit up, the light flickers. i tested every link I could think of, and every time the light was as bright as it could be. any ideas?
Someone on this forum had a similar problem recently. He traced it to a chaffed wire where it went from the door into the main cabin. This is the easiest thing to check first.
on my 89, it was the switch - same problem. Try soaking the contacts in Contact cleaner first, moving them back and forth... it worked for me for about a week, then the same problem... replaced the switch, and it was fine...
Your test light confirms that it's either like XL said, or a faulty switch...
if you move the switch slow with that test light on it, does it change? or is it the same? my guess is that you have a dead spot on the switch...
