Which Inline 6 do I have?
I need to know which I6 I have in my 65 Mercury M-350. Years ago the engine was replaced and I need to buy a new water pump. It says heavy Duty Oil bath Filter on the oil bath filter. Were the 300 and 240 have the same stickers? I got half of it. In the LMC catalog it shows that they have different stickers.

With a unknown engine, anything is possible. Is there a engine tag attached by the coil? How about a rivited tag on the block under the exhaust manifold? Good news, my Obsolete Ford catalog shows that water pump-to-block gaskets are the same from '65 to '79 for the 240 and the 300, pumps should be same also. Take your old one along to match it up for sure...
