Upholstry

I've been looking through the forums for any threads on redoing the seats in my 83. They are after market but I'm just
wondering
if this subject is anywhere in this forum or somewhere else on the site. I went back to 99 on this forum but there are many pages to read through, was hoping the moderator or one of the older members could steer me somewhere.

I've used the best quality from J.C. Whitney on several vehicles over the years and was always pleased. They call them seat covers but if you remove the old upholstry they fit just like upholstry.

Didn't think of that Piffery, the seats in the truck are an aftermarket that Whitney sells. I like the idea of using a pre-made cover. I'm also looking for info on the cushioning, building up the side bolsters and the hip and thigh area. Was wondering if that memory foam is any good for doing seats.

I once used some foam rubber from a section of A/C tubing cover (pipe wrap) to build-up/replace the original foam on the drivers side seat edge on an old Chevy truck. Shaped it with an Exacto knife and scissors and attached it with rubber contact cement and some heavy thread. Worked well and you couldn't tell the difference once the new seat upholstry was on.

Thanks for the link Piffery. I'll look through their site when I get home later.
