Is this true?

that a carb from 80 - 86 with fit my 84? Guy in Milesburg, PA told me this just want to know if hes right or not.

dude,80 THROUGH 86 ur truck is 84,thats in the middle it will work

Pretty much, but I dont think your chances of getting a 2bbl carb from an 86 truck with a 302 will be good as ford went to EFI for 86. The 300, 351 and bigger still had carbs though. But you dont want a 1bbl on there now do you.

no not really...im not into power right now til i get some money saved up. Just want to get this running the way its suppose to so my dad will stop bitching about me driving his car. I might have someone down here that can get me a carb if its from an 84 ill prolly take it...if not, i gotta keep looking...btw, the guy also said i have to find a carb that also has cruise control...he right about that?

In a way I want cruise but then again, I would like to change the steering wheel to a grant or something else thats not so thin...

if u want cruise and want a performance steering wheel you can actually take the controlls off the steering wheel and put them somewhere else,i think saomeone has actually done that,just look around

You should be able to remove the part of the carb linkage that the cruise cable hooks to and install it on the new carb. Can't you rebuild the current carb?
