Crankshaft Pulley
I finally got the crankchaft pulley for my 79 non AC to factory AC conversion on a 400 engine. Now I have a newbie type question that is almost embarassing. I removed the four bolts on the crankshaft pulley and the pulley wont come off. I tried to remove the large center lug nut but the entire pulley moves. Do I have to get a pulley remover or does the pulley come off with just a few taps? Did I screw something up by moving the crankshaft?

The pulley should come off without a puller. The harmonic balancer would need a puller. It should come off with a few taps of a hammer. Turning the engine by hand won't hurt unless the distributor is out, then you would have to find TDC again to reinstall it.
, LxMan1, your right. Guess that I read to fast, but yes the pulley should come off without a puller.
