I just bought a 2006 F 150 and absolutely love it. Unfortunately, with less than 4K miles on it, someone else with a similar height truck/van wiped out my mirror (drivers side), naturally, no number or note on my parked truck. The door was fine, the mirror smashed, the motor mount was broken off, so the parts guy ( a buddy of mine) said it would make sense to go for a whole new mirror assembly.
I ordered the whole assembly through the parts guy, it arrived today. Now I am trying to figure out how to get the panel off to get at the 3 screws that attach the mirror to the door. Has anyone sucessfully done this recently? I noticed there are 2 screws at the base of the door, and a pop-out panel which will probably yield a few more screws near the door handle.

Not including the screws you mentioned...there is One I believe under the armrest and I am assuming you have Power Windows...if you pop off the cover of the Power Window switches you will find one there also(You have to disconnect this anyway).
