guys with 4x4 crew cab F150's .... what kinda fuel mileage are you getting?
Trying to figure out if my bro-in-laws truck is having an issue. He gets 13mpg.. city/hwy it don't matter. Towing it's worse ... way worse. That's hand calculated and he's not driving like a nut just regular take offs ect... Think it has something like 3:46 grears?? It's a weird number.
I've been recording all my fillups from day one into an excel file and my running average is about 16.5 mpg. My all time best so far has been 18.2, which I achieved twice during a trip to Florida and back 2 weeks ago. Both tanks were spent doin 80 mph on cruise, one on the way down and one up, I was very surprised. Worse was 13 while I towed a boat around town and typical hot-doggin w/ my brothers. I've got about 8500 miles on my truck and its still improving, so I believe its still getting broken in.
I usually baby it everywhere and just keep the tach around 2K rpms. This will get me mid 16s in city driving. I have a 5.4L SCrew FX4 w/ 3.73s.
13.5 to 14 city only driving, and 17 on the eway running 70 to 75 to date. Just under 11K on the odo so I do not even think it has fully broken in yet. Lariat 5.4 auto 3.73 LS with 275 18's.
untill about a week ago i was gettin 17 consistand on my 4x4 screw with 3.73s now ive lost 100 miles a tank and im down around 14. its got a new fuel filter and air filter. my driving style hasnt changed and i think it has something to do with the gas
I get 13.8 city, hand caculated. I get 18.1 highway at 75mph, hand caculated. I tow a small 2500 lb loaded camper up steep inclines I get 15.4. Mine is a 06 Lariat, 5.4, 3.73 rear, about 2800 miles on the clock. No Mods.
If you have a 06 I would be in the stealership every day untill you see my represenitive MPG readings. Or keep your foot outta the throttle. Sorry I see a lot of new car owners who think they are the reincarnation of Dale Earnhardt.
Dad's 05 F-150 club cab 4x4 will make 18 mpg at 65mph max. Cruise up to 75mph and it will still do 16.5, and faster and it drops pretty bad. Pulling his 17 foot boat at 70mph he usually gets around 13 to 14mpg.
I managed to get 19 out of it one day, kept it down to 60mph. It might get better yet as it only had 9k on it at the time.
