Let's hear 'em!
I'm trying to get my truck running right, which is going to include timing it by ear.
Anybody around here got some sound clips they can post to give me a good sampling of what a properly running 6.9/7.3 IDI sounds like?

you will never get it timmed right doing it buy ear. You will have to take it to a reputable shop that has the equitment to do it. Or if you were nice they may let you borrow it. I am only saying this becase I had a costomer try that and he had it way off. and did some good damage.

Well, maybe I overstated my intentions, Farmallo5.....
I know I won't get it exactly to spec, but I want to at least get it fairly close so that it is driveable before I take it to a qualified shop......

I had one somewhere, probably on an old computer. You want a nice crisp rattle, but not so much that it sounds like a Powerstroke. It should quiet some when the high idle and advance drops off.
So, you going to try and reset that pump tomorrow? I should be home working in the yard if you need any advise. Just email me.
