VIN/Paint/ HELP!!!
Alright my VIN number is
f15grfa8547
I get most of it F15 is because it is a f150
G is a 302
RFA ?
8547 is the assembly code right?
then i have
Wheel Base (WB) - 133(133 inches i get that)
Color - D (ok so what color is this? and is this interior or exterior? I cant find this color to save my life)
Type/GVW - F150 (I get that)
Body -SF4 (what?)
Trans - K (i know that)
Axle-13X (i get the 13 is the rear but whats the x mean?)
the dso is 71 which is los angeles
ok now there is a sticker that is white attacked at the door jam i have a pic of it and it gives me all of my GVW info for both axles and tire psi and that sorts
then there is the vin number again than this
I made this picture exactly how it looks lol the best i could

FA8547 - sequential build number = May 1979
D =(alternate code 5W) (Body Color) = Medium Vaquero Metallic (deep dark red ) door color is correct

S - (seat) *Ranger Trim* Broadcloth and Vinyl (Explorer)
F - (interior color) Cordovan
4 = Styleside box
Trans - K (i know that) = C6 auto

13 - 2.75 ratio
X - (code for special combo of things ie: Power steering and adjustable column with a certain spec front axle weight.) I suspect The X is new for 1979 and my resources don't show it.
The old code for PS with tilt column was A

The White Sticker in my door, the one I "enhanced" by making a replica in paint haha, but can you tell me how to decode that?

If those areas were pertinent they would have info typed into them.
That info that relates to those is available on buck tags located on the vehicle or the build sheet which can be found under the seat amongst the springs
or
under the carpet
check the center of the firewall for a buck tag riveted to it.
For the actual day of being built you can find that info stamped on the top of the rad support,

do you have any photos of the color for my truck? any others that do?
I havnt found any and i never got to see the original color becuase my grandpa didnt take care of the truck lol

the floor board, all the metal and the dash is that Cordovan
or just the dash and yea or just the seat and panels? but ive only been able to find "red" ones idk what the look like at LMC and stuff but are they red or will they work? as well as the seat and the carpet?
