c bushings

I'm fed up! Putting 4 deg bushings in the bronco and can't get them to sit right. One radius arm always sits higher than the other by at least 1-1/2 in. Tried different tightening sequences, and switching cups but nothing helps. What else can I do?

now you know those bushings only go one way!?!?! look on the edges, it'll say TOP or BOTTOM/FRONT or REAR

i just put a set in my 72 bronco and they sat perfectly even.

also loosen the radius arms from the C's as much as possible and wiggle and move the radius arm around. this will help seat and settle the bushing a lil better.

Lube helps them set better, too. Maybe they are a cheap brand?

Did you get a matched set? Take a good look at them and make sure you received a set of -4deg bushings. Some goof may have mixed them up before you got ‘em.

Got them from JBG. Yes they do say front bottom and rear bottom on them, and that was checked MANY times. I will double check to make sure they all say 4 deg. though. Didn't think of that. Tried wiggling the arm while tightening. Didn't use any lube. I'll have time to work on it again tomarrow, wedding to go to today.

Just for fun, I tried them on my parts axle, perfect the first time. I think some cobknobbin' hillbilly tried to change the pinion angle by rewelding the brackets. Jagged it all up in the process. There was a 5deg. difference between the two brackets for the radius arms to bolt around. That'll get ya every time. Now I got to change everything over to the parts axle. More work than expected seems to be the trend on this thing.
