injector life?

about how long should i expect my stock injectors to last for? im pretty much looking for a halfway justifiable reason to go to beans stage 1's. if i do, how long should i expect for an install seeing as i have very limited mechanical experience? mods listed in my sig.

They only last 119,000 miles. There, now you can justify Beans injectors

About 200K IMO, but many have gone way longer without trouble.

I keep telling myself that same thing. I have 250,000 on my stock injectors. I am REALLY wanting to get beans stage 1's but I am torn on whether or not to get new or rebuilt injectors. $900 rebuilt, $1700 new.

The instructions dont sound like it is too hard to do, but I bet it is time consuming (at least 1 day for someone doing it for the first time). Here is a link to the instructions on beans site.

Not too bad. Be sure to suck all the oil outa the recesses before removing them. If the oil gets into the cylinder and you attempt to start, you can hydralic the piston and possible hurt something.

Search this site for instructions. Lots of good help here.

It's not hard. The most time consuming part of the job is getting the valve covers off.

Once all the injectors are out the engine will rotate easily by hand....three or four revoloutions is plenty to blow all of the fluid out of the cylinders. Don't use a mallet on them either, it's a good way to nick an o-ring. Mix a little vaseline with engine oil to make a super slick assembly lube. When the injectors are in the bore correctly they will pop in with only moderate hand pressure....no mallet required.

Give Bean a call. He tears down each injector, inspects all of the parts, replaces any that are worn. He can rebuild yours, you send them in and wait. Or he can do a swap. Mine had some really hard miles on them, (farming, pulling grain trailers, loader/backhoe, tractors, etc.) plus two cases of algae in fuel. After talking with Bean, the best bet for me was Stage II's (more low end power) with new barrels and plungers, (Stage II's come with new custom built nozzles) so now I have new injectors. I was going to have to have new barrels and plungers anyway due to wear, and probably several new nozzles also.

I would definitley go with Beans' rebuilds.
