Question connectors.

In this pic "

Dsc02512

from de album of 1997f350 there are a connector with a red wire, what it is for, because in my truck, it´s unnpluged and there are not a male receptor like the black color in the picture.
Second, in a lower part of that connector there are another one (a little bigger and oval, not clearly visible in the picture) and also was unnpluged, but it has the receptor, and I just plugged in, also what is that for,(water/fuel separator?) because my truck didn´t tell me nothing and runs fine.
Another thing I noted is that more in front there are a part like a tire valve with a cap???? what is it´s function?

thanks.
Jose.

P.S. I don´t know if I am making a mistake, taking the picture of the 1997f350´s album. I will apologize for that. Let me know please. I still don´t know how to attach pics or make a gallery (and many other things).

The red wire is going to the fuel pressure sensor if I'm understanding you correctly.

The wire below it could be the fuel heater. You may want to leave that unplugged, it may blow fuses, #22 iirc. Next time you replace the fuel filter look at the bottom of the filter housing for a ring of wire that should be connected in 3 places. If not, that's why the lower connector was off.

The "tire valve" is for taking the fuel pressure reading with a gage. It commonly called a schrader valve.

You did good on posting the picture, worked for me.

Lightbulb

I found this exploded view and I think the first one, has to be connected to the Part#9S283 (vacuum swhitch), or maybe to the part # 9F597 or is this one the schrader valve ??. In my truck there are only a plug, is it necessary and I have to buy it?
The other connector I think was connected to the part# 9J294 (external), am I wright? or is the #9S281?
At the bottom of the filter housing I didn´t see a ring of wire, only like a big washer, not wires, and probably, like you said that's why the lower connector was off, anyway I´m going to uplugge it as you told me.

Thanks again Cuda_jim

Part #9S283 (vacuum swhitch), Yep, Fuel pressure switch.
part # 9F597 yep, the schrader valve. You may want to add this so you can check your fuel pressure.

You are missing the fuel heater, probably don't need it in Mexico.

Thumbs up

Okey dokey Cuda_jim, I already unplugged the fuel heater, and I agree with you, I dont need it in Mexico. I´m going to get the Fuel pressure switch and connect the red wire.

Thanks for every thing.
