Yes you can use RTV in most cases they now come that way from the maker. A bead about an 1/8" wide around the cover and each bolt hole let it set about five minutes and bolt it on. By the way an easy way to squeeze that tube is to put a
big cotter pin across the bottom and then turn it with a small pin or srewdiver. Saves
a lot of strain on the hands, and you don't waste any rtv by having pocets in the tube.
