Air Filter

Ok, so I just read about 50 different threads on air filters, I have a 2003 Expedition with about 70,000 miles on it and I want to replace the air filter with something simple (not reusable), well priced and something that will give me better mileage then the OEM filter... what is the consensus?

Your driving behavior will affect your mileage more than ANY filter will. Keeping a CLEAN filter will help too.

I have no idea as to what the best filter for mileage is. I always get Napa filters for my truck. Keeping your foot out of the gas will get you the best gas milage like hkiefus said.

I have a K&N Cold Air Intake on my 03 XLT FX4 5.4L.
I have used K&N filters for over 25 years and never had a single problem with them.
Not only that but I just love the noticeable increase in low end power and wouldn't trade it for any other filter...

I went with a K&N drop-in, although I wish I had gone with the Cold Air Intake.

No noticeable increase in mileage with the K&N, but the engine does have better response.

Several of us have the K&N air filter and there's a small increase in MPG and saved money by now without having to replace the filter. It's a part of my truck.
