I can only see one. There is only one replaced on the invoice. Manufacture date is 06-98. Could there be 2? if so, where is the other?

My '02 has two mounted together on a pedestal near the fuel filter bowl, one is for GP's and the other is for the intake air heater. The GPR has a large terminal with rubber cover(live battery +12v) and the opposite terminal being switched 12V to the GP's. Should have a heavy guage wire coming off the terminal and splitting to two wires, one for each bank of GP's. The two small wires are for activation of the relay with the PCM providing a ground to the relay. Very simple design with the relay being the most problematic.

My '99 does not have a AIH. I can hear the relay click on and off.

Yup...sorry i forgot about that fact. Well if we assume all your connections are sound then the only other thing it could be is the batteries. You
can have them load tested at any auto parts store.

Muy Confused?

Which relay is for the GP's on an 01'. I bridged the one closest to the fire wall (smaller) and nothing. I bridged the one closest to the radiator (bigger) and it fired right up. So I went and bought a GPR and it looks just like the one closest to the fire wall (the smaller one). I AM CONFUSED. Does anyone know for sure which relay is the GP one. The smaller in the back, or the bigger one in the front???????? 2001 model. Thanks,

Ryan

The GP relay is the one closer to the firewall and is smaller.
The picture here shows the GP relay with the heavy gauge brown and yellow wires coming off the large terminal(each wire feeds power to each gp bank). The
taller relay is the air intake heater relay. This one is disconnected from the actual heating element on my truck. If your GPR failed at some point i suppose it might be possible to switch over the wires from the GPR to the IAH relay and use it as a GPR. Are u the original owner of the truck?

Welcome to FTE wooly fxr!!
The "skip" is usually a CPS going bad. What condition are your batterries in?

Even though the batteries are relatively new i would get them load tested. After
replacing your GP's and GPR the batteries are the only thing left. Make sure ALL
your electrical connections are 100% too.
