Problems , Problems
My wife and I just purchased a 1984 Fullsize Bronco from my employer (Napa) The bronco has a fresh 302 jasper engine with a little over 1000 miles on it a new posi diff new exhaust and is in deaperate need of lots of body work.
Since Napa didn't want to put anymore cash into a such a older vehicle the sold it to me for $500.00 I though it was a pretty good buy.
Anyway most of the body work is done with new doors, fenders , hood , bed sides and rocker panels and is going to the paint shop for a coat of dark purple metallic paint (wifes favorite color) the problem I'm having is the throttle linkage and a wiring issue at the voltage regulator. The 302 has a edlebrock performer intake and 600cfm performer carb the O. E. cable binds either at idle or open throttle i have purchased the linkage adapters from edelbrock and now an looking for an O.E. throttle bracket as it is supposed to be used on this does any one know where i can get one resonalbly priced in good shape ???? and does any one have detailed wiring harness diagrams for the charging system I have a lot of wires going nowhere and the manuel is vauge on this area. The reason for the aftermaket parts the vehicle had a small carb fire due to faulty fuel line and the original was replaced with the edelbrock 4 bbl. Any information woul be greatly appreciated.
Thanks JImmy and Brenda in WV

Sounds like you made a great deal on a truck, would like to see some pics of it.
The throttle cables do that, the plastic sleeve that is there you need to grease it up, and it should work fine, also make sure it's alighned. Eldecrap carbs, never liked them .
Im a holley man but to each his own.
So far the carb seems to work great put changes are in the future such as new manifold, cam , and exhaust mods our state is a little hard on cutting out the cats but i maybe able to get around that. I'll get some picts on here as the truck is but its far from finished it has come a long way from the rusted hunk it was. I bought the vehicle for winter purposes because we live about 4 mile off the hard road and winters here can be pretty rough any way check out the picts.
Welcome to FTE and the Big Bronco Forum. BRK has the right idea whether I personally agree about the Edelbrock comment or not.
You might check with The Graveyard (site sponsor) for the components you need. The only wiring diagrams I have ever used/needed were the ones listed in the back of the Haynes manual that I have that covers 1980-96 models.
Oh and um, just for the record "posi" is a GM thing. Trac-lok was the Ford name for it. (just a little FTE teasing).
Feel free to pick what little brains we have around here.

On the eldelcrap comment, I just have a big mouth and opinions just fall out.
I think I'm gonna enjoy this forum sounds like good natured fun with Knowledgable people. Being a parts counter man at NAPA for the last two years and at Advance Auto for the 11 years before that I find dealing with people who know something about automobile and trucks is great ( compared to some that should loose thier toolboxes) and I have learned a lot from the people I work with and look forward to learning from ya all on the forum.
This is my first Ford truck build the last one was a 75 Dodge 1/2 ton stepside short bed with 8" total lift and 35's on it but alas a broken frame brought that to a end . So I may ask some really stupid questions at times so bear with me.
Also for my first stupid question how do i post pics? i haven't found that out yet.
Posted some picts in galley for ya under Purple Bronco. Lots of work to do but I think its a good base.

Oh hey just noticed the "parts counter" thing there. Guess we should sweep the "Why is it... ?" thread under the rug real quick don't ya think, BRK?
Oh and BRK, She probably DID say it was a good size but you missed the part about it being the ONLY thing you use to "think" with.

I'm probably gonna change the set up after I get it up and on the road, gonna need the 4x4 for winter so runnability is a must where I live. but I want to investigate some carb, manifold and cam combos for the best one for the trucks use. I definetly will go looking for that bracket though having the throttle stick wide open on a crooked one lane gravel road dosen't sound like a good time.
