Maybe the 2008 will have the new 6 speed auto transmission? I'm surprised the 2007 F-150 doesn't have the 6 spd.
I like the current smooth shifting 4 speed in my truck, but a 6 spd would be nice. Ford needs to upgrade to a good, strong, smooth 6 speed soon!!
2007 Toyota Tundra = 6 speed
2007 Dodge Ram = 5 speed
2007 Chevy/GMC = 4 speed
2007 Nissan Titan = 5 speed
Don't think the Expedition is really now based on the F150 platform after the introduction of the 2004 F150. The current Expedition is based on the U platform, where as the F150 platform changed in 2004 to the T platform. Some similarities but refinements on both actually pulled them away from each other. The new 2007 model will be based on the newly designed F150 T platform introduced in 2004.
If you have never driven a 6 speed auto, they are awesome. At least the allison is. Very nice shifts. First gear is low! You really dont even notice the shifting and the engine rpm stays constant based on your acceleration.
Whose crafty and rich enough to buy an 07 expy and put the drivetrain in their F150?

My point was it's a 5.4 & still has substantial weight.
