92 F250 7.3 non-turbo automatic. Ok I just put stacks on my truck and this might sound a little silly...but I want black smoke!!! My truck puffs very little black smoke even under a load (6100 lb mud truck on 2300lb trailer) and foot into the throttle. I don't want or need much more performance I just want it to blow black smoke. I understand that the black smoke is "unburned" diesel. so can i just tune the IP for this effect? Any advice experience or knowledge is greatly appreciated....Pros and Cons also
Black Smoke is a Airmissing Problem.
When yo turn the IP more open, maybe it will blow more black smoke.
A turbo can be a better solution for your problem.
Your injectors are in good conditions?
I assume the injectors are ok, the truck hasn't lost much (if/any) power through the years...but I can't honestly say. I don't really want to go ask drastic as turbo charging the engine.
#1 It is hard on your engine, fuel dilution of the crankcase oil and high exhaust temps are just two engine reasons not to do it.
#2 I, and many others don't care to breath in your excess particulates. If you want to collect them all in a big bag and breath them in your own home, then that is fine, otherwise - NOT!
