I have noted that every time I start my PSD, the volmeter is in a 1/4 of the scale (8-18), I think is aprox. between 10-11 volts, and after 45 seconds it marks about 3/4 , aprox. 13-14 volts. It is that correct? or the alternator or something else is wrong?
i have had my GPR disconnected all summer to help keep the battery's in good condition. i'd like to do the GPR switch mod just havent gotten the chance
sounds like your gps are not cycling. sounds like you got a bad gpr.
if it was your needle would be at about 9.
and 12 ish with them not on and 14 when running after 40 seconds.
Mine sits at the bottom 1/4 all the time at starts up and then jumps up, the question was is it normal for the needle to sit at the bottem on start up or if he had an electrical issue with his alt. or batteries.
Not weather his truck can or cannot start, he has not expresed concern about poor starting. As well, he is going off the stock gauge so the truck could be at 9 volts and then jumps up, he is guessing on the voltages in relation to the stock gauge.
And I think this guy lives in Mexico as well, am I correct

you guys enjoy.
I will apologize as I can see how I wrote my last post which can have been misleading, it was not intended as a flame.
Here is my expearence, I jump in truck, cycle key, volts read near the bottom(I would guess 9 volts), start truck, with lights on and engine running, it sits at 12 volts and headlights dim, then I hear a click, volts jump up to 14 volts+.
Like mentioned, he is not having a poor starting concern, with truck running in comparisen to my truck on the volt gauge, its reading the same. being that its a warm day here where I am, I just turned the key and never even let the light go out and I was reading I would guess 11 volts, hear the click and jumps to 14volts.
My glow plugs are in excelent condition and my glow plug relay/selinoid is working fine as well, my truck starts fine on the winter days of -35C up in Canada here.
What I'm getting at we could be talking about someones missconseption of voltages on a volt gauge which you may think is 9 volts and I may think is 10-11 volts.
I'll apoligize for what I wrote, you are knowledgeable and informative and I have learned alot from what you have wrote.
I appreciate all your comments, really tanks. I have learned a lot from what you have wrote here in the FTEF.
Yes I´m from Mexico, and I´m not having a poor starting concern. I only noted lately the variation on the gauge and it atracts my attention, and also noted that de RPM change a little when the gauge jumps up.
I only have 4 months with my truck and I´m begining to know it. All in diesels is new for me.
All of you are a really gurus, I hope I will be some day like you. Please don´t get angry, OK? don´t make me feel guilty.
