Brake Shoe Backing Plate replacement
I am replacing the backing plate for my brake shoes on the rear of my 91 f-150. Is is as simple to take the shoes off and un-bolt her? will the axel just slide out once that plate is unbolted? I was kinda poking around in a diff at the junk yard and it looked like it should just pull out. Am I correct in my thinking?

There is a C-clip in the diff if you are wanting to get the axles out. The whole brake plate is on there with four bolts, but the axle needs to be out of the way first. If you are willing, remove the diff cover, remove the tiny center pin bolt (spin the diff until you see it), remove the center pin, push in each axle and the C-clip will pull out.
