Train train, comin down, down the line
Train train, comin down the line
Well its bringin my baby, cause shes mine all, all mine
(shes mine, all, all mine)
I can't believe that NO ONE said: "Wabash Cannonball"
Train Kept A -Rollin' was done by Tiny Bradshaw in the early 50's Aerosmith remade it.
Areosmith was good at taking old R&B song's and remaking them in there own style.
Walkin' The Dog on there 1973 release was a RUFUS THOMAS song.
City of New Orleans...I used to play that one quite a bit when I was more into Folk than Bluegrass...haven't done it in years tho, but I can probably still remember all the lyrics.
Seems like every other Bluegrass song is a train song, or at least has some mention of a train in it. Wabash Cannonball and Orange Blossom Special are probably two of the best known but some others that come to mind are:
Blue and Lonesome
New River Train
Glendale Train
Last Train from Poor Valley (By Norman Blake, one of my favorites)
Roll in my Sweet Baby's arms
Railroad Bill
Signal Light & Wreck of the Number Nine, a couple of tunes that Doc Watson did
There a many more of course, but these are some of my favorites.
