Anyone remember the day when the twin towers came down? Remember where you were and what you were doing? Seems like only yesterday but it was five years ago.
A little after 9am......enroute to a secondary security job i do at a jewelry store.....Heard the news on the radio....Guessed terrorism, but withheld judgement. Got to the store and heard of the second plane after that-----then the pentagon. Needless to say, all the employees weren't working worth a c--p (understandable) and everyone glued to tv in back. One female muslim associate from Morocco (nice lady) was crying. Owner decided to close early (about 1045am), and I went in to my regular (police) job early..........Worked until about 1230am the following morning....Looooooong day and it was about the worst day in my life. I didn't want to do anything that day but pay attention to what was going on, but duty called, and i had to deal with the usual a----les...some of whom could give a d--n that 2 towers fell, the pentagon was struck, another plane crashed in PA, and 3,000 fellow Americans (and non-Americans who also died in the towers and on the planes) were butchered......I came as close to breaking someone to pieces as i ever had in my job.....an undisciplined teen who was chuckling and cracking jokes about what was going on in the news that day and on TV........Definitely wasn't in the mood for any of the usual crap.
p.s. I saw a news bit that day that showed a crapload of Palestinians jumping and cheering when the towers fell, and I prayed to God that a flight of F-16s had come in and dropped napalm on every last m---------er there.........Still do. I was NOT one of those "Let's get past this", or "Islam is a religion of peace", or "Gee, what did we do to **** them off" people.......Retribution pure and simple.......
