I'm trying to remove the nose on my 61 uni but can't get the bolt on the rear of the fenders out. You know the ones you get from inside the cab right by the top door hinge. The nut on the fender side is spinning and I can't get a wrench on it. Should I try drilling the heads off or take the doors off and use a sawsall to cut the heads off through the hinge pocket. Or does any body have a better idea.
Thanks Rich
I had the same problem. I turned the bolt as a friend held the fender and pulled it away at the front to put force against the nut. It's quite a puzzle. I almost cut holes in the fenders because I couldn't find a way to get the sawzall in there.

Eric did you take the fender off seperate from the core support? I'm trying to do mine all in one shot. I geuss if I have to take it off in pieces that will work. Being a truely lazy flat rater type I try to avoid unnecessary parts removal. Thanks Rich
Yeah, mine had to come completely apart anyway.( The rad support came out in pieces, if you know what I mean... ) I guess you'll have to disconnect all fender attachments to use my method. When I asked the same question an expert suggested a sawzall for the bolt in question but I don't see how it can be done.

Well it's 10:00 west cost time and the nose is off. what a b***h I ended up pulling both doors off just so I could see what I was doing. Then I drilled the heads of those pesky bolts off, of course I drifted off center on one and still had to use a long chisel. Then I had to remove the top bolts on one fender to get the nose to spread a bit to clear the shock mounts but I got it off in one piece. Next I start to work on pulling the engine piece of cake with no nose. Thanks for the help,Rich
