Back seat radio controls peeve

What a stupid idea from FoMoCo! No practical purpose whatsoever- of course the first time kids see it they start messing with it. I found the wires for it easily enough and disconnected the plug but then the rear speakers wouldn't work. Is there a way to disable the controls and still use the rear speakers? I prefer most of the sound coming from the back.

Look in your owner's manual. (I didn;t drive my truck today so I can;t look myself)

There is a setting (If memory serves) to turn the rear audio on and off. It's something like holding down the 6 and 1 at the same time.

Sure enough- it's the 3 and the 5. Thanks!

The problem is when you turn off your truck, the radio resets. Every time you startup you have to turn off the rear controls. I haven't found a way to keep it off.

I'm sure you can get the pinout for the rear controls from a Ford dealer. At that point just cut the signal wire and you should be gravy. I know on my old Taurus the signal wire for the remote switch was a single wire.

I'll just get used to disabling it every time with the radio buttons, I don't really want to cut wires in case I ever decide to sell. I think I've eliminated all the annoyances now- this and the seatbelt and key warning bells.
