I put together a vid of me and my peeps running the beach on the outer bankx.
I had the Escape wound up in first with 15psi in the tires. Was quite fun, I recommend it to everyone to try it at least once.. You swim around a good bit in the ruts, and there is no mud to clean up...

It was, for sure.. About the 4wd, the Escape has that auto 4wd. It is FWD until it detects wheelspin, then it has a hydraulic lockup to lock in the rear. I'm guessing that it was probably in 4wd from the ammount of throttle I gave it. Only had a little bit of bogging when I went across some 1 ft deep ruts.
Actually, OBX has a couple beaches you can run.. Corrova (up north), the inlet (where I was at), and on Hataras Island (down south)..
