i have a 86 F-250 XL 4x4 with manual locking hubs and some wierd scissor style independent front suspension with leaf springs. ive been reading up and it seems that i either have a TTB dana 44 or 50. how can i tell wich one i have? and what does TTB stand for? i need new tie rods and the parts guy has around 4 different styles for this year and model. pls reply quickly because i need this fixed before monday so i can get to work.
TTB stands for Twin Traction Beam, most of them were the D44, but the F250HD has the D50, there should be a tag on the axle. and the cover on a D50 is bigger like the D60 axle bolt pattern
anyone have any pics of a D44, D50 or D60? i dont really have anything to compare mine to and im not quite sure what the others look like. some rough measurements of the hub would probly good enough if pics arent available. is there less hex screws on the D44 hub than the D50 mabey?
unfortunately, i am temporarily incapacitated due to a broken foot, so it will be a few days before i can get a pic of the 89 with the D44 front end for you so you can see the difference.
