This is going to sound stupid ,but I've got 1100 miles on my my 06 FX4 never crossed my mind to put it into 4H or 4L till today ...no indicator light came on so I guess I'm calling the dealership in the morning.
I dont think thats stupid. Here we've only gotten 2 rains since April 11th. Sure i always toy with mine as soon as i get mine to get a feel for it. I dont expect everybody else to.
1 thing though was you trying 4H or 4L. You might already know this but you have to be in neutral to go into 4L.
It is easy to forget over the summer. When I got my tahoe in 03 they tried to say that new 4wd systems don't need to be locked in and lubed ever month or so. 90% of the guys on the dealership are dweebs and don't know anything even about their own product. The only guys I ask the questions are the technicions that I trust. When I got my F150 the guy tried to sales pitch me with the fact it "had the upgraded V6". I couldn't keep from laughing. The guy was for sure the basic engine for the F150 was a 4.0
Well I went back outside and tried again and now it worked ,so tomorrow at work I'll try it out on the long sandy driveway into a jobsite.
Yes I did try 4L in netrual ...thanks for the replies
