I have an '83 F-150 I am restoring and I need help finding axles for the front end. I'm about 90% sure that it's a Dana 44 but I could be 90% wrong. I was hoping to find chromolies or at least something stronger than stock. I have looked around a little but so far no dice. Any ideas?
Well im planing on putting somewhere from 38.5s to a 40s on it and building my 351M into a stroked 400, somewhere around 430 cubes. I dont know if I would trust stock axle shafts under that much stress. I don't want to finish building my truck and have to go easy on the pedal.
Monsterbaby has a Ranger with a stroked 460 (to 528) putting out about 900hp. He's running 35's on the front with a stock solid D44, and he mud races it. Unless you're rock crawling on it, you should be fine.
