Oil Leak

I noticed an oil leak today while looking under my 2003 F150 Supercrew Lariat 5.4L. It looks to be near the block heater. I have put a few pictures on my website to show what I was able to see. Can anyone give me any insite on this leak?

I just bought the truck a few months ago with 110K on it. It runs great but I can sometimes smell something burning after driving it. I think that this may be why. I have not noticed much oil useage so far though.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum.

It actually looks to be coming from the head hasket area above the block heater.
I would get a can of brake cleaner and spray it down good to remove the oil. The drive it and see where the oil shows up first.

cowboyty, the way you are using oil I would replace the pcv valve that seems to stop the consumption.

Thanks for the advice LxMan1. I tried it and found that the leak is somewhere else. In the front of the engine somewhere then leaking all around to the back and on the bottom of the transmission. Maybe an intake gasket or a valve cover gasket. Will do some more cleaning today once I get the intake tubing off so I can see where it is.

When I bought it the dealer said that it had a very minor leak on the intake manifold... looks not so minor from what I can see.

Will update this once I find out more.
