Need Help & Advice

I recently bought a 1966 Ford truck that the prior owner "souped up" and I want to tone it down. He has a 352 block that he bored out to make it a 390 and then he put radical cam in and headers and a Cougar car? 4 speed and put a shifter on the floor and cut off the 3-speed column shift. and then he put 4.11 gears in the rearend.

What year donor truck do I need to get to have "standard" rear end gears that will fit into my rearend housing. What can I do to the motor to make it less wicked? and where can I find a steering column to replace my butchered one???

#1that truck if it is an f100 should have a 9" rear. if so anything up untill a 79 i believe will work. as long as it has the same # of splines on the axles 28 vs. 31. (if you need a 31 spline i have a 3.00 ratio open for sale out of a 67 galaxie $50).
#2replace the cam.
#3 smaller carbuerator.
#4 as far as the column hit the junkyards.
