This seems like a stupid question, but does anyone know what the "front spring isolators" are? One of the mechanics from the infamous shop wrote on the invoice under Inspection that "the front spring isolators need to be replaced," but didn't bother to ask if I wanted it done...
Thanks
Kevin
The constant stream of dumb questions will stop soon, I promise . In the meantime, thank you all for your constant support and information!

not sure, i've got that "dear in the headlights look", but sounds like some sort of rubber bushing that deals with the coil springs. never head that one, but i'm just a shadtree mechanic. My wife is using the other computer right now which has the shop manual, so i can't look it up there. don't be surprised if I'm wrong.

Thanks for the info, guys, but there's only one problem...my 2000 F-350 is a 4x4, so my front springs are two thick leaf springs on each side of my Dana 60 (?) axle.
Had to go out and check--haven't slept all night because of my pain and my memory was fogged by my previous truck, a '95 Dodge Cummins 4x4, which did have coil springs on the front....
You don't happen to have any other ideas, do you? I've checked the springs (again), but I still cannot see anything wrong or missing.
