Got some new Bilsteins this week and put them on last night. Figured I'd post a little blurb on my experience. Three of them are cake the forth is a PITA. The passenger side front. If you ever go to put shocks on the 2wd start on the pass-front side first and get it out of the way first. You can't get the nut from the top ( a/c is in the way ). You can barely see if from the wheel well. To get the old one out easy I ended up cutting it with a sawzall between the bottom upper bushing and the mount. Getting the new one in was 1/4 to 2/3 turn at a time on the nut. I did the other three in half the time it took to do that one.
The engineers must have a good laugh when they extend the threaded stud 2 1/2 - 3" above where it needs to be to mount a shock. I mean ... come on now... lol.
I did bilstiens on an 01. The rears gave me the biggest fit, I couldn't compress the shock and slide the bolt in the lower mount. I ended up pushing the shock up, letting it expand down until I could jamb a screw driver into the bracket and catch the shock. Once the screw driver was in, I wiggled the bolt into place as I pulled the screwdriver out.
caddys83 .. getting mine off was the easy part. The sawzall really works fast. But yea putting the new nut on was a 1/2 rotation at a time at best ... lol

HA HA HA... true, I think it took me 30mins just looking at the bolt trying to figure out how in the world is my arm going to fit in the area. then I come up with some socket extensions with a swivle head attached to a socket to "try" to remove the bolt. That idea didn't even worked. It seems that the passenger wheel well tiny hole was just big enough (To me it even looked a little bigger then the diver side hole) to see and remove or install the bolt. Maybe the engineers decided: "hmm lets help them out a bit, lets make the opening a little bigger"
LOL too me it seems it was less then half the rotation
Here is a picture of how the right side wheel well shroud appers to have a bigger opening.
